This year’s Olympic Day activities will be hosted in Bo on Sunday, 29th June, the second time since 2007.
Last year, Olympic Day activities took place in Freetown, east of the city. The Organizing Secretary for the programme A.G. Koroma who also doubles as the Administrative Secretary of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) said everything have put in place to make sure that this year’s activities become a success.
He stated that apart of the running of various athletes like the elite, veteran and disable there is also going to be other sporting activities like volleyball, handball; basketball and education quiz contest for various Secondary Schools in Bo.
During the activities, statements will be made by the Minister of Sports or his representative, the Residence Minister-South, the Mayor of Bo City, the NOC President, Dr. Patrick Coker, former NOC President, Henry G. Moore and Scribe, Joseph Nyande and host of other sports personalities.
A cultural performance and certification ceremony will climax the day’s activities.
