Arrow FC and Welding United FC both from Bo City Southern Sierra Leone, on Saturday 21st June 2014 were crowned respective champions of the Craig Bellamy Foundation (CBF) National Boys Football League played at the Bo-Kenema Highway mini-stadium.
Arrow FC thrashed their opponents Real Stars from Makeni Northern Sierra Leone 4 -1 to clinch the under-12 trophy, while the match between Welding United FC and Cow Yard FC had to be settled through penalties with the Welders winning the match 5-3 from the spot.
CBF League Manager David Browne told Awoko that he was very impressed with the outcome of this season’s league.
“We were able to witness great display of talents in football from boys around the country and this will help develop the game in Sierra Leone,” David Browne said.
He thanked Mercury International for sponsoring the league with over U$ 80,000.
Meanwhile, the national women finals will take place in Makeni City Saturday 28th June 2014.
