The Hon MP representing constituency 11 in the Kenema city has made a donation of four bundles corrugated iron sheets (C-I sheets) to two organizations in Kenema city. The organizations that benefited from the donation include the Fobie Street Mosque and the Young Stars Youth Group of Combema Road in Kenema city.
During his presentation ceremony the Hon MP Mathew Nyuma said the youth are vital tools in national development as they are the back bone of any society therefore their affairs should not be down played in any form in terms of support. He said the donation to the Forbie Street Mosque is as a result of the role played by religious institutions towards the sustenance of peace and stability in the country.
Hon Nyuma told beneficiaries that all donations made by Parliamentarians for development purposes are from their own private coffers and not from government or donors. He said they cannot have enough to donate to the people but they can play an active role in the formation of laws in the best interest of the country. He encouraged the beneficiaries to feel free to call on him at any time when help is needed for the improvement of their respective communities and organizations. He expressed satisfaction for the donation made to those organizations for the completion of the Forbie Street Mosque and the Young Stars Youth Centre adding that it is a big mark for generation yet to come.
In his contribution the outgoing Chairman of the Young Stars Youth Group Musa B. Janneh thanked Hon Mathew Nyuma for his gesture describing it as timely and a surprise to his Group after making the request within a short notice.
Janneh pledged his organizations support to the MP at all times while he called on all to vote in vibrant development oriented youth like Hon Nyuma for national development. The Chairman of Fobie Street Mosque Edmond M. A. Sannoh also thanked Hon Mathew Nyuma for his humanitarian gesture and called on other well meaning Sierra Leoneans to emulate this good example by the Hon adding that the name Mathew Nyuma is a household name in constituency 11 in Kenema city.
