The gala organized by the Sports promoters of Lungi for the President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Henry Moore has reached the semi final stage of the competition.
Since the competition started last Saturday at the Don Bosco youth centre playing field the competition has attracted a lot of sports personalities within the township and Freetown.
In the opening match Sinnah FC went through into the semi-final stage when they defeated their arch-rival Don Bosco in a penalty shootout.
In the second game on Monday between Humanitarian and Global the match was exciting and very tough as both teams displayed their maturity in the field of play.
During the match both teams went on the offensive looking for goals that will see them into the semi-final but it never materialized until the end of the match which ended in a penalty shootout.
Global took the day when they won the penalty shootout by six goals to five (6-5) to see them through to the semi final stage.
On Tuesday Saiba FC of Rotifunk came on very strong to defeat Bai Bureh of Mahera by two goals to nil. Both goals were scored in the first half of play by Sappo and Abess Turay to put their side in a comfortable position in the match.
During the second segment the match took a different turn as the match became rough with both sides determined to score but with the saves of both goalies the match ended two zero in favour of Saiba FC.
In the last group match played yesterday Geda-Geda battered their opponent Young Real Stars by four goals to nil with Joseph Bockarie netting three of the goals to be the highest goal soccer in the league presently.
The first semi-final match will be played tomorrow between young Sinnah FC and Saiba FC and on Saturday Geda-Geda FC will engage Young Real Stars and the final match will be played on Monday 16th February at the same venue.
