The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Oladipo Robin Mason, yesterday told Justice Mary Sey at the Freetown High Court No 2 that Omrie Golley, Alpha Bah and Mohamed Kai Tongi, who are facing treason charges, were absent in court for security reasons.
The DPP also asked the court for an adjournment, since the accused were absent from court.
After listening to his application the presiding Judge informed the court that he would send notices to the accused persons and their defense counsels.
It would be recalled that two weeks ago the Prisons’ doctor, Konto Coker, testified in court that the first accused, Omrie Golley, was seriously ill and that his pressure had risen.
He then told the Judge that Golley would be available in court in two weeks’ time.
The matter was adjourned to October 2.
