As a contingency plan for any eventuality during the course of demolishing illegal structures erected beyond the green belt area, the Sierra Leone Police has allegedly identified some one hundred Police Officers who would provide security backup to Officials from the Ministry of  Lands and Country Planning.
In an interview with the Director of Police Media, Ibrahim Samura, he confirmed to Awoko that, plans are underway to contribute a reasonable number of police personnel to the Ministry of Lands and Country Planning for any eventuality during demolition exercises.
He said the role of the Sierra Leone Police is very crucial in ensuring protection for  lives and property; adding that the move by the Sierra Leone Police  is to provide security  for officials who might be confronted by some lawless people.
He recalled that a couple of years ago a dangerous precedent was set in which some lawless people brutally tortured the late Ken Moore who was in charge of the demolition task force.
As at now the Police would not sit by to allow any lawless person to let hell on decent people.
He noted that, a series of warnings have been sent out to all illegal occupants of state lands but they had so far failed to adhere.
The Minister of Lands and Country  Planning, Benjamin Davis  is on record to have said that, the grace period for illegal occupants was over , noting that his Ministry was now working with  both the Sierra Leone Police and the Sierra Leone Military Force to demolish all illegal structures at water catchments and other forbidden areas in the Western Area .
