Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In a gesture of goodwill and festive spirit, Zenith Bank Sierra Leone Limited has added a touch of magic to Dworzark Roundabout, unveiling a dazzling display of Christmas lights and decorations on Thursday, December 21st, 2023.
The grand illumination ceremony, led by Mr. Chijioke Ejilemele, Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Sierra Leone, saw the roundabout transformed into a festive wonderland. Top officials and staff of the bank gathered for the event, where Mr. Ejilemele ceremoniously cut the ribbon, officially lighting up the previously darkened roundabout.
Situated at the junction connecting New England Ville, Pa Demba Road, and Fourah Bay College, Dworzark Roundabout now boasts massive Christmas lights, a jolly Santa Claus display, and a prominent billboard with the cheerful inscription “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” visible from all angles.
Mr. Ejilemele expressed the bank’s commitment to giving back to the City of Freetown and its residents during the holiday season. “We’re doing this just for us to showcase that during this season, we all can be happy. It’s a joyful season, a season of giving. We’re very happy to be associated with these lights,” he stated.
Explaining the choice of Dworzark Junction, Mr. Ejilemele emphasized its strategic centrality and the high volume of residents passing through the location. The aim is to spread joy, happiness, and the spirit of Christmas to all who traverse this central hub.
Zenith Bank Sierra Leone Limited, known for its reputation, views this beautification initiative as a way of appreciating their valued customers and the people of Freetown. Mr. Ejilemele assured customers of enhanced services in the upcoming year, stating, “For 2024, our customers should expect more and better services, increased efficiency, more benefits, and lower costs as they transact their businesses with us.”
The festive decorations are set to brighten Dworzark Roundabout for a minimum of one month. Mr. Ejilemele expressed optimism about extending this tradition to more locations and roundabouts in the city in the years to come.
