The President of National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone Henry G Moore on Saturday April 24 in Dakar at a Special General Assembly of Zonal Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ZANOCA) was elected as Vice President for a period of 4 years.
Henry Moore said that his nomination for the position during the special General Assembly came as a surprise to him as he was not expecting such nomination after he has rejected the Secretary General position last year when the election was postponed to this year in Senegal held last weekend.
It was during the general assembly that he was nominated as the only candidate for the position which made him go unopposed. They still voted for him in a secret ballot for transparency as he had 6 votes out of the 7 members present.
Speaking to Awoko, Henry Moore said that he feels very happy for the position as this is the first time Sierra Leone has got such opportunities and they are going to make good use of it so that it will benefit the country.
He also stated that to be in the executive of ZANOCA means that any activities of ZANOCA Sierra Leone is going to benefit from it as we will never left out of anything organized by ZANOCA.
