Three Sierra Leoneans including one Teacher at Lungi, one local artist and an untapped talent have been awarded round trip tickets to Kenya to witness the Zain sponsored MTV Music Awards 2009.
The three individuals were selected over the weekend at the Old School entertainment complex by distinguished judges while a lucky subscriber was also awarded a ticket after the raffle draw.
The red carpet event held at Old School was exciting for the contestants and the Zain family including partners like NASSIT and KPMG. Guests were entertained with high emotions, laughter and tears of joy as a way of experiencing a wonderful world of Zain. Alonso emerged as the luckiest Sierra Leonean local artist while Rosaline Strasser King emerged as the Sierra Leone representative for the MTV ‘MY VIDEO’ Awards and the luckiest subscriber who voted for MAMA Mohamed Fofana a teacher at Lungi will be leaving the shores of Sierra Leone on Thursday this week.
Earlier Zain’s Marketing Director Dan Koboyo said Zain is partnering with MTV to create a wonderful world of music and explore talents, adding that winners will be opportune to walk on red carpet and also meet with Wyclef and Beyonce.
Dan expressed thanks and appreciation to the team for their commitment and determination to explore their talents and commended the Zain family for organizing the contest and also making it a success.
The Acting Managing Director Keith Tukei presented two tickets to the lucky winners and encouraged the finalist to go to Nairobi and grab the MTV trophy to make the country proud. The MTV Music Awards ceremony 2009 is proudly sponsored by the Zain network and top musical celebrities around the world are expected to grace the ceremony.
