The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport division in Kenema city has issued a strong warning by any individual or group or organization who attempts to construct an additional structure at the Kenema youth sport club compound along Mahei Vangahun road.
This statement was made public during a special press briefing organized by the Regional Youths Officer Mark Sesay at his Kapuwa Mattoe lorry park office in Kenema. Sesay disclosed that it has come to the notice of Ministry officials that the Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD) is planning to construct a youth centre within the Kenema youth sport club compound without consulting the appropriate authorities concerned noting that it will be counter productive if they go ahead with their plan.
Mr. Sesay stated that the youth and the sport division at the Ministry of Education leased the sport club through the provincial administration in the East to promote youth and sport activities in the district.
The Regional youth officer Mark Sesay also used the occasion to explain the government position on youth activities in Kenema district and the eastern region in general. He denied allegation that he is hiding information from the public. Mr. Sesay appealed to youths in the region to unite and engage in developmental activities for the benefit of the entire region. The question and answer session climaxed the meeting.
