President Ernest Bai Koroma has been calling on Sierra Leoneans for a change of attitude. On Wednesday, Vice President Samuel Sam Sumana launched the Attitudinal Change project at the Miatta conference hall in Freetown. To know what ordinary people think about attitudinal change, our reporter Saidu Bah sought their views.

I am very happy for the launching of this attitudinal change by President Koroma. We are looking forward to see changes in the attitudes of the president, cabinet ministers and other civil servants then we the poor people can easily emulate the good example of the president or else it will be the same “boku tok.”
Ibrahim Bangura
It is a step in the right direction for Sierra Leoneans to change our behavioral pattern but the problem lies with the authorities who do the wrong things with impunity, while the masses suffer the consequences.
If the president means business he must ensure that there are penalties meted out on violators of the campaign.
Mohamed H Barrie
The change of attitude campaign trumpeted by the president is just another means to eat money. If they are serious they most first of all stop underage children from watching pornographic movies and control the dress code of some of our girls who dress half-naked.
The government must also ensure that good morals are taught in schools and inculcate the culture of “it is my business, not government’s business as usual” then we can talk about change of attitude for the development of the country.
Marie Bangura
It is true that Sierra Leoneans have bad attitude but the government is responsible for this because we are yet to see the brightest example from the authorities, particularly in the areas of cleanliness and dispensation of justice. Poor people don’t have rights in Sierra Leone. We the poor people comprise the bulk of the population but we suffer the most.

I am very happy with the president’s campaign for all Sierra Leoneans to change their attitude. It is a step in the right direction but the problem lies with this government. As you can see in this city we have so many prostitutes and armed robbers but the government is not doing any thing about them. Look at the streets they are full of garbage and every body knows about it.
