The National Wrestling Association is in dire need of US$ 21,000 to participate in the African Oceania Championship in Marakesh, Morocco slated for 12-20 March 2012.
The President of the Association, Prince Sualley made this disclosure to the press, noting that the money will cover the tickets of eight wrestlers and two officials as well as the licenses and allowances of the 10-man delegation.
He describe the competition has “very important” and stated that it is a qualification tournament for the Olympic Games in London this summer.
He appealed to government and companies to come on board to assist the team financially in order to make the trip a reality.
The team needs to qualify in this tournament if it is to get accreditation to participate in this year’s Olympic Games. The tourney is one of the qualifying grounds for Wrestlers.
