In line with their commitment to helping society, the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) over the weekend issued a cheque of Le 10 million to the King George’s VI Home.
Presenting the cheque, the Executive Director (Business Development) of the Bank Bockarie Kaloko said he was very shocked and moved when he learnt about the plight of the aged at King George’s Home.
He stated that the Bank has made a commitment to help society in line with their corporate social responsibility to the country.
He assured the aged that what he had seen and observed at the home would be conveyed to the Bank so that more tangible assistance will be made.
The Executive Director further revealed that the Bank’s assistance to the home came about after the home made their thanksgiving ceremony at Boston Church at which the Managing Director of the Bank was very touched.
The Acting Chairman for the Sierra Leone Society for the Aged, Hannah Deen appreciated the gesture of the Bank and referred to them as helping them in their struggle whilst Genevieve Coker, said since her 7years as matron, she has not met a big cheque
