Smiles was restored on the faces of Rokunla, Royanka and Roronka Villages 29 miles from Makeni Town, when Isatu Timbo Nwokedi a trained Registered Nurse and also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Giddas Home Services in California donated 60 bags of rice and school supplies worth over $10,000 to them.
Nwokedi who is a native of Rokunla village said that though things are difficult in the USA, it is three times difficult for Rokunla Village.
She pointed out that she has shipped a forty foot container worth of medical supplies through the Office of the First Lady to help strengthen some of the medical institutions where in Rokunla, Royanka and Roronka Villages, will be beneficiaries.
The CEO called on the youths and women to send their girls to school as education is the bedrock of every society.
Mrs. Isatu Timbo further highlighted the importance of having a hospital in Rokunla which she said will help to combat the high maternal mortality in the country. She also promised to lobby for funds to help finish the hospital her grand father Ajibu Jalloh was building. “My dream is to make Rokunla hospital one of the best for her people”.
This will be the fourth 40ft container that Mrs Timbo Nwokedi has donated to Sierra Leone. She said she has bigger plans to help strengthen the medical institutions in Sierra Leone.
