The Minister of Defence, Rtd Major Alfred Palo Conteh, in his address to WAI soldiers at Wilberforce Barracks Hockey Pitch, expressed gratitude to them for their invaluable services rendered to the nation during the civil war in which cause the incurred their injuries.
“As I bid you farewell, I feel emotionally charged as you are now leaving the institution which you once love so much,” he averred.
He advised them to put their benefits into good use that would serve them for the rest of their lives.
“My office would always be opened to you,” he assured them.
WIA Chairman, Corporal Manna Kpaka, expressed gratitude to the Minister and authorities of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) for looking into their predicaments by making it possible for them to receive benefits, which they needed most.
