The name Christopher John in sporting circles is nothing to right home about; as he was once the President of the Volleyball Association for a couple of years, without creating any impact.
Since he took over as President of the Association he has done more than two terms (which is 8 years) without conducting any elections.
The Christopher John executive, according to members of the Association is holding on to power and they have refused to organize a congress to pave way for a new executive.
The executive have refused to hold congress on the grounds that clubs are not able to organize themselves to be part of the national body. However, when he took over as President of the Association there were no structures in place; and at the same time this did not hinder the conduct of an election.
This is the same person who is now talking about change in the National Olympic Committee (NOC) when he cannot effect any change in the Volleyball Association.
Most of the members intimated Awoko that they only see Christopher John around when it comes to making trips outside Sierra Leone, at the expense of the Association. He would not even be seen when it comes to attending local meetings, as there are always excuses.
They mentioned that the Association is presently been administered by three persons, as most of the members have decided to quit, due to the dictatorial tendencies of Christopher John
