The Mayor of Freetown, His Worship Herbert George-Williams has said his management will succeed in every sphere in the city be it education, sports or infrastructural development.

Last week was a successful week for the council as the mayor was on hand to commission the Kingtom Police Primary School where he commended Councilor Sembia Johnson for his effort and admonished the children to make good use of the school.
He also promised them learning materials and appealed to the teachers to put more effort in their job so as to make the pupils better citizens for the future.
The Headmaster of the school Mr Abu Sefoi thanked the management and Mayor for the school which had been in a deplorable state for a longtime. He also appealed to them to look at the fencing of the JSS compound. The inhabitants of Kingtom begged the Mayor to look at building a market for the community and also to help them in improving the road.
The Mayor has met with the Korean investors of Daesan Construction Company that is the third largest in Asia in a bid for them to invest in the city on a large scale.
He has discussed the possibility of them turning Kroo Bay into a metropolis as well as other areas that they can invest in.
The Mayor said the company will look into re-building the City Hall and the renovation of the OAU Complex. The Council hopes that these projects would attract other private investors and government to buy into the scheme that will be largely funded by the Koreans.
Mayor Herbert George-Williams said he wants the city to be a modern city and he is looking at the possibility of constructing tunnels in the hills around the city to help eradicate traffic.
The new plan for the City Hall that was originally built by them is a 10 storey structure that would be a masterpiece.
He averred that the council is working the modalities to pre-finance most of these projects that will be of immense value to the city.
The delegation is expected to depart Freetown this week.
The Mayor also said the Freetown City Club has gained promotion to the Premier League and they will do everything possible for the team to be successful.
The Mayor who is also a sport enthusiast and who plays football regularly said the council bought the Freetown United Club so the Council too will have a responsibility in promoting sports in the city.
