Nfagi Kabbah, deputy National Chairman and Leader of Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) last week said the party vehemently rejects the ruling from the Political Party Registration Commission (PPRC) and further called on the commission to reverse its decision.
Kabbah mentioned that the PPRC does not have the mandate to disband a political party’s executive and select people to be caretakers or run the affairs of the party.
“The best they could have done is to refer the matter to court like they did for NRM and the APC. Even though the ruling from PPRC referred to the act of some of the complainants as contemptuous, they upheld the complaint and made some of them as caretakers of the party that would take the party to convention,” he added.
He furthered that the complainants that made the report didn’t have the locus standi to make the complaint based on the fact that they had resigned their positions in the party, of which he said the PPRC had a copy.
Kabbah stated that most of the complaints that are now being put forward were earlier discarded by the previous Chairman of the Commission on the basis of not providing supporting documents to substantiate their case and the Registrar of the Commission failing to guide the new Commissioners on the previous judgment on the matter.
