The coach of Old Edwardians Amidu Koroma disclosed to Awoko that they thrown away their winning on Wednesday night against Wusum Stars which was not good for the team. He made this disclosure after they drew 2-2 with Wusum Stars of Makeni at the national stadium.
He also stated that they are going back to the drawing board to do their assignment as they prepare for their next match against Diamond Stars of kono which will be played in Kono next week.
He said their preparation have already started for that match and we are going to Kono with full force as they are going for victory to have revenge against Diamond Stars after they lost the first leg by three goals to one (3-1) in Freetown.
Amidu Koroma said that his team performance was not too good in the first half as they were not able to leave up to expectation, but in the second half of the match they came in very strong to change the tempo of the match to their favor but they failed to take their chances to secured all three vital points.
Amidu stated that during the match they decided to bring in Abdulai Sesay from the bench and he made the difference in the game that gave them the much needed equalizer in the match which was better for the team.
During the match it was Wusum Stars who took the lead through defensive blunder 10 minutes in the first half. Thomas Tucker leveled the score after through a header after receiving a pass from Saidu Turay.
During the second half of the match Old Edwardians came very strong looking for more goals which never materialized until Wusum Stars made it 2-1 again from a defensive blunder. After that goal Old Edwardians was desperate looking for the equalizer which finally came in the 80th minute from Saidu Turay to share the spoils.
The league is expected to continue today with Nepean Stars hosting Kallon FC at the Bo coronation field while in Kenema Gem Stars will host Central Parade today.
