The Secretary General of Ports Authority Football Club, Idrissa Tarawalie has disclosed to Awoko Sports that they may take Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to court if they fail to fund their club to participate in the 13th Edition of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) championship competition.
SLFA had earlier in December accepted blame for depriving the nation from witnessing inter-continental competition.
Idrissa further disclosed that they were surprised to receive a correspondence from SLFA, dated 11th November 2008, stating that the Association would not fund the Club’s competition. This contravenes article (2L) of the SLFA constitution, which states that ‘SLFA should encourage and augment the effort of clubs to ensure their participation in international competitions’.
He stressed that the Sports Director has been informed accordingly and that they are waiting for his response.
