As a way of promoting the business climate and to reduce the expense of transportation from China to Sierra Leone, the General Manager of Eagle Sierra Leone Limited, Mark Zhai, on Friday disclosed that “we make business easier for customers who buy goods from China to Sierra Leone” by providing cheap shipping facility between China and Sierra Leone.
He made this disclosure in an exclusive interview at his business headquarters, Gouji Investment compound, Cline Town, Freetown
According to Mark Zhai, his company specializes in shipping from China to Sierra Leone for less than a full container, as most people were unable to carry out shipment from China to Sierra Leone, especially those whose business are half a container or less than half a container.
“Our services include all formalities handing, haulage, warehouse, sea shipping, customs clearance and trucking or door to door delivery service. We also on behalf of our customers, purchase raw materials and finished goods such as electrical appliances, furniture, house holdings among others” he recalled, explaining that their service range is a one-stop package, highly comprehensive and professional, as the company is committed to offer the most reasonable prices and quality services to customers, but weapons, drugs and food are not transported by his company.
He states that business people find it very difficult to do shipment from China considering the distance and the resources, but with “our company, business people will just have to visit us and make the necessary arrangements and within 50 days, the customer will receive his goods from China through us” maintaining that business people will not have to pay their way to China, as they will use the money to do something else, as his Company serves as a link between their customers and business partners in China.
In highlighting some of the challenges faced by his company, since they started operations in 2005 in Sierra Leone, Mark Zhai disclosed that limited market structures in the country, compared to other countries, they find it very difficult to come with large goods as the purchasing power of the consumers is too low in the country, but not withstanding that “We are proud to say that, our company is the only company that ship less than a full container in the country from China.
