The Administrative Manager of East End Lions FC, Abdul Karim Kabba (AKK), says his team has what it takes to represent Sierra Leone in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) competition. He said six clubs were asked to negotiate among themselves to select two to represent Sierra Leone in the CAF Champions League and Inter Continental Cup, for which FC Kallon, East End Tigers and Edwards declined. Bo Rangers, Kamboi Eagles and E. E. Lions were given a three day deadline to negotiate, but Bo Rangers FC issued a press release saying since they are leading the table they should be declared champion, adding they won’t represent the country based on financial advantage.
Kabba said as a responsible club they are capable of representing the country in continental competitions. “We have what it takes to represent Sierra Leone in continental competitions and we are always ready when we are requested to do so,” he said. “I represented the club in the meeting and I was able to tell the Premier League Board that we are ready to represent the country. And we still stand by that decision.”
