‘We have established confidence in NOC’-President Moore

The President of the National Olympic Committee Henry G Moore has disclosed to Awoko Sports that they have establish another area of confidence in the NOC with Finance officer, Women in Sports, Information Technology unit, and the Olympic Academy. President Moore stated that Information Technology Unit is very important to the NOC as these will make the association under the NOC able to communicate with their international counterpart in a fast pace. The NOC President went on to emphasized that Women in Sports is one of the concerns of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and they have been able to established that even when the development officer Pamela Vipond was in town that was her dream and has now been accomplished. The NOC President also mentioned that the Olympic Academy was in place since the death of the chairman as they were unable to go on with the academy because they were unable to acquire a place at the National Stadium. But with a bigger space now, they have decided to kick start it once again with Lumprie Sesay in charge of the academy. He stated that with all these development he is very pleased and appeal to all the associations to come on board for the development of NOC. He stated that there was some delay to acquire a bigger space because the type of space they were looking for within town was not available by then and the other reason was they are not going to rent any private place that will create problems for them. That was why the Sierra Leone Red Cross who was their land Lord for their previous office decided to rent the top floor to them because it is bigger for all the sports to come on board to do business with them as there will be no problem. NOC President Henry G Moore said they were able to accomplish their dream and the reason for that is because of the bigger space they have acquired which is more than enough for the movement. He also mentioned that they have been in that building since 1998 and because of the space they were unable to expand the activities of the NOC, but with this bigger office space they are determined to developed the NOC in the coming years.
