The President of Ports Authority Football Club Abdul H Kanasieu told Awoko Sports on Monday January 24th 2011 at his Cline Town office that they are yet to sign a contract with Hummel group of company.
He made this disclosure after Hummel donated sports gears to the team ahead of their first leg match against Toure Kunda Foot Pro of Senegal on Saturday January 29th at the Demba Diouf Stadium.
He said they are yet to sign because they are going to look at the contract before signing it.
He also said the Executive Secretary of the company is in London and he will be coming to Freetown later in the month to look at the contract before signing it.
He said if they agree to sign the contract they will use the sponsorship for the benefit of the club and he also stated that this sponsorship is a big boost for the team ahead of their first leg match with their opponent Toure Kunda Foot Pro. Kanasieu also stated that in this year’s league, Ports Authority will be the best presented team.
In another development the General Manager of Ports Authority Benjamin Davies said that Ports Authority is a well structured club in the country that is why they are able to attract the attention of an international company to them.
He also recalled that last year they also had another sponsorship by another international company that also donated sports gears to the club. Benjamin Davies stated that the sponsorship is the result of hard work by the Executive of the team.
