The President of the National Wrestling Association, Prince Sualley has told Awoko Sports that they are looking forward to a brighter new year.
That is why before the year ends, they are trying to bring all the Wrestlers together to have a two-day seminar to review the past two years and try to prepare for the coming year, by having a calendar of activities which we are going to work with to ensure a successful year.
He also stated that they will go strictly by the calendar which will guard the executive to know what to do.
He also revealed that the calendar will contain both local and international competitions but this time around, we are going to pay more attention to local competitions to keep the wrestlers fit, ahead of international competitions.
The Wrestling President also said that the last two years was a challenge; one for the association as they were able to attend five international competitions and secured two bronze medals which was good for the wrestlers, as they were able to expose most of the wrestlers for the first time in international competitions.
He also stated that over the past years, the standard of the Wrestlers has improved a lot. The reason for this is because they are committed to training, which will take them a long way.
President Sualley also revealed that they are expected to take the sport to the schools. That, he said, was why they were very happy to be part of the Samsung competition at MMCET were they introduced the sports to the schools around the Goderich community.
