Western Area Volleyball Association (WAVA) Technical team has selected 38 players including 19 female and 19 male for the Regional Volleyball competition which is slated for the 4th to 8th November 2009 at the Volleyball court at the National Stadium.
This was disclosed by the assistant coach Sorie Kamara who also stated that during the five days competition they will be able to select a formidable side that will represent the country in international competition.
He also stated that those who have been selected will start training on Monday October 19 at the National Stadium and it was from the training that those who will be representing the Western Area will be selected.
Sorie Kamara also stated that in connection with the competition the other three regions are also preparing their teams for the competition and they are expected to be in Freetown by the 3rd of November 2009.
The Western Area Female team will be made up of the following players
Saran Kabba, Florence Amara, Josephine Sesay, Yamane Kamara, Augusta Tucker, Alice Bull, Kadiatu Conteh, Kadiatu Turay, Zainab Kamara, Zainab Denkeh, Memunatu I. Kamara, Diana Moses, Hannah Sesay, Georgina Williams, Aminata McCarthy, Aminata Conteh, Anie Friday, Hawa Kargbo and Adama Jalloh
While the male team will be made up of the following players
James Fayah, Mohamed Kamara, Mohamed Bawoh, Mohamed Bessie, James Conteh, Osman Jalloh, Abu-Bakarr Bangura, Ibrahim Kamara (Twobah), Joseph Kabia, Patrick Kamara, Sahid Tawaralie, Alie Kargbo, Manie Kowo Manie, Paul Lombi, Quintos S. Konneh, Momoh Tholly (Ploto), Mohamed Koroma (Shaggiest), Macca Conteh and Momodu Jalloh.
