Residents of Hangha town and Tissor village, both on the Kenema and Tongo highway in the Nongowa chiefdom, are at each others throat over a piece of land.
The two groups drew cutlasses against each other last Friday while each was claiming ownership of the said piece of land situation between Tissor village and Hangha town.
Surprisingly, this piece of land has already been offered to an NGO for the construction of dwelling houses for amputees by the paramount chief of Nongowa chiefdom, Amara Bonya Vangahun.
The regional operations officer East, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Daniel Amara Bongroh led a team of police personnel to the scene, and upon arrival both warring parties fled into the bush.
ASP Bongroh said he had visited the town and village and invited the authorities to the station.
As of the time of going to press, all activities on the land had been temporary suspended by the police until investigations were conducted into the matter.
