According to the Sierra Leone Football Association media the West African Football Union (WAFU) has sent a correspondence to the Sierra Leone Football Association, dated 14th September 2019, confirming that the Zonal Female Football Tournament for Senior National Teams will be hosted in Sierra Leone from Friday December 13th to Sunday December 22nd 2019. The tournament slated for last year November was terminated due to the FIFA suspension on all international football related activities in Sierra Leone.

Bo, Kenema and Makeni had been jointly identified by WAFU and SLFA as host cities together with three approved pitches. WAFU General Secretary Jammeh Bojang is expected in Sierra Leone shortly for a re-assessment. A Local Organizing Committee for the tournament will be announced soon.
