Sierra Leone’s Vice President Alhaji Sam Sumana has become the latest dignitary to join the Rotary International sponsored Kick Polio Campaign.
The Vice President signed the ball to register the government and his Ministry’s commitment to help Kick Polio out of the country.
The ball which was delivered by DHL to Rotarians at their meeting last week will be going through all the 14 countries in the ECOWAS sub region.
Sierra Leone has been rated highly as one of the country’s with the highest implementation rate in the successful vaccination of under five children for the polio campaign.
In another development it has just been made public that world renowned computer giant owner Bill gates who is also a renowned philanthropist has contributed $200 million to Rotary in support of their Polio Campaign. It is reported that Bill gates father is a Rotarian and he was able to convince his son to contribute handsomely to the campaign.
