Mohamed Bowen Freeman who is the National Safety and Security officer of the Sierra Leone Football and CAF Safety and Security officer has said venue safety and security manager have been designated by event organizers to ensure stadium event are safe, secure and welcoming for all spectators, participants, stadium personnel and others involved in the event.
He said partner agencies must recognize that the stadium Safety Officer is the principle authority regarding all stadium safety and security matter.
He manages a range of potentially important dynamics, risk assessment in order to determine the actions necessary to prevent minor challenges escalating into major ones.
He also revealed that the Safety and Security Officer should check all physical infrastructure and technical and technical installations and systems drawing upon external and specialist technical advice. Such systems are often categorized as serving a primarily generic (multi-purpose) safety and security function.
General (multi-purpose) Infrastructure compromising key issues like Control room, CCTV, Access control system and signage.
System infrastructure including turnstiles, fences and walls, gates screens and barriers.
General (Multi-purpose) management arrangements like staff recruitment and retention, staff training and development risk management and planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs.
