The University of Sierra Leone (USL) and Hiroshima University, Japan, on Tuesday signed an agreement on Academic and Educational Exchange between the two universities at the office of the Vice- Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sierra Leone .
The objective of the agreement is to promote mutual understanding between both universities with a view to enhancing academic collaboration and exchanges that will lead to the advancement and progress of learning.
Both universities agreed to promote joint research, exchange of faculty and administrative staff, exchange of students, research outcomes and academic publications and other academic information, and other academic and educational exchange programmes approved as suitable by both universities.
The agreement was formally presented to the Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sierra Leone, Professor Aiah Gbakima, and Hideaki Shimoda of the Institute for Peace at Hiroshima University.
The signing agreement was witnessed by Mrs Memunatu Pratt of the Peace and Conflict Studies, FBC and Edward T. Ngandi, Registrar of the University of Sierra Leone.
