The United States, through its Sierra Leone embassy, has urged Sierra Leoneans to “continue their laudable respect and patience for the integrity of the electoral process.”
The embassy, in a press release yesterday, said Sierra Leoneans should exercise this patience and respect as the vote tally was certified by NEC in preparation for the final announcement of the results.
The release also stated that the United States commended the people of Sierra Leone on the calm and orderly conduct of the presidential runoff election on September 8.
It maintained also that, “the National Electoral Commission and the Sierra Leone Police deserve continued praise for their impartiality and professionalism throughout the electoral process”.
