The United States embassy yesterday welcomed Danna Van Brandt at a reception held at the residence of the embassy’s deputy Chief of Mission.
In welcoming the embassy’s officer, ambassador Thomas Hull said he was happy for the appointment and hoped she would enjoy her work at the embassy for the next two to three years.
Ambassador Hull further disclosed that, “Danna Van Brandt has been working at the embassy in Washington and other parts outside USA and working here will not be strange for her.”
The US ambassador said the new Public Affairs Officer came at a time the country just concluded its presidential and parliamentary elections, and “the country is at a verge of transformation”.
He added that the new officer would be happy working with all the staff at the embassy and also the people of Sierra Leone.
In response, the new officer Danna Van Brandt said she was happy for her appointment to the country and that she would live up to her task.
Danna Van Brandt succeeds Brenda Soya who left for another mission sometimes this year.
