An Information Technology Specialist working at the American Embassy in Sierra Leone Desmond Jarrett and of 9A Rodolf Lodge, Hill Station has emerged as the lucky winner of the H2 Hummer Jeep that was the star prize in the Moe Tea Raffle draw.
The Raffle draw was organized by the Mohamed Kallon Children’s Foundation and it was a fund raising venture geared towards supporting Street children in the country. The draw which was conducted by Premier Media Consultancy was held on Sunday at the Victoria Park in Freetown.
Other consolation prizes included 10 Nokia 1202 and two Plasma 32 inches televisions.
Desmond Jarrett won one mobile phone, one Plasma TV and also the star prize which is the H2 Hummer Jeep. Abdulai Barrie, Valerine Fornah and Zainab Fornah won two mobile phones each while Sulay Fornah, Ishmail Dumbuya and Dauda Koroma won one mobile phone each. Valrine Fornah also won a double as she took home one 32 inches plasma TV.
Speaking to Awoko immediately after he was given the keys of the Hummer Jeep, Desmond said: “I am the happiest man today because owning a Hummer Jeep is everybody’s dream” He said earlier on, before the draw, he was having some skepticism about the transparency of the draw. “Now that I am the lucky winner I say thanks to God for choosing me,” he added. Addressing the audience, Ibrahim Carew, General manager of Old Skol who represented Mohamed Kallon at the ceremony said Moe Tea was produced purposely to support the less privileged children roaming the Streets of our cities as this is the dream of the super star. He encouraged people to continue to buy Moe Tea as another raffle for which the star prize will be a Porsche car, will be held in December this year.
