The US Embassy in collaboration with the American Corner at the Bo Regional Library, on Wednesday enlightened a cross section of people from Bo District on the life and times of this year’s November General Elections.
The session began with a biography of both presidential aspirants, Senator McCain of the Republican Party and Senator Barrack Obama of the Democratic Party.
Second was the enlightenment on the General Electoral Process, where in having a majority in the general elections does not determine a winner; but only after receiving a simple majority of the electoral votes of 538-‘The Last Vote’ which comes 41 days after the November Elections.
Morrisson Aruna, Bo Regional Librarian explained that the inclusion of students was for them to “learn the art of public speaking” which entails confidence and boldness.
James Taylor, Director Information Resource Center American Embassy explained that the day was all about “information sharing “as these pieces of information are hard to come by.”
