Executive members of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change based in the US States of Maryland and New Jersey, have held a meeting in New Jersey to strategize and exchange ideas about how to help bring about a PMDC victory in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections, slated for August 2007.
Secretary-General PMDC Maryland, Yolanda Thompson said members expressed joy at being a part of “a young party which has emerged as a force to be reckoned with and which is proving itself to be a formidable opponent to the older, long-established SLPP and APC.”
She said the mood at the meeting was that of “great confidence” that PMDC was becoming the light and salvation for the country. She assured that come the August and the elections Sierra Leoneans would demonstrate their “hunger and desire for change” as they would vote for the PMDC.
The two branches of the party resolved that they would partner more closely together to double their efforts, resources and material to concentrate on the greater goal of winning the elections outright.
This have now established an electronic group (e-group) to help facilitate communication between and among members, and are in the process of developing a new website, which will host PMDC-oriented information including articles, commentaries, photos, video clips and other items of interest.
The secretary-general of PMDC Maryland described the meeting as “jovial and collegial”, even if serious and productive.
