A four-day regional Seminar on the theme: ‘Unity, Love, Justice and Sincerity’ organized by the Africa Muslim Agency (AMA) Direct Aid has ended in Kenema.
In his opening speech the chairman of the ceremony who is also the head of Missionaries of Azhar Mission Sheik Kideri Mohamed welcomed all participants and thanked them for their turn out for the Seminar, saying that any knowledge they will gain during the Seminar will go a long way in building their capacity and there by promoting the Islamic religion.
The Director of the South and East and who is also is the head of the center at Nyandeyama in Kenema Fuad Naif informed the participants that the Seminar is to enhance good working relationship between the Missionaries and the Imams and to facilitate interaction with the community they find themselves there by promoting the religion.
He urged all participants to avoid discrimination as Islam does not allow that, “love your neighbours as you love yourself and be a God fearing people.”
Some of the areas dealt with during the seminar include “How to be open to human beings and the religion.” “What determines you as a missionary and Imam.” This brought out the six points * to be straightforward at all times, * to be patient, * to be obedient, * to be healthy at all times and * to be productive and not a liability.
The facilitators include Sheik Badiru Madikour, Sheik Yassir Ahmad and Sheik Mohamed Hashim. In his contribution Sheik Morie Musa Kallon from Segbwema in the Jaluahun chiefdom in the Kailahun district on behalf of his colleagues thanked the organizers of the seminar saying that it has equipped them with more knowledge and promised that the knowledge gained must not remain with them but to be shared with their community members in the interest of Islam and humanity.
He appealed to all participants to be ambassadors of their various disciplines as they are now a reservoir of knowledge.
The seminar which took place at the Africa Muslim Agency orphanage compound hall at Nyandeyama New site section in Kenema attracted present and future missionaries and Imams from Pujehun, Moyamba, Bonthe, Bo, Kenema and Kailahun districts in the South and East of the Country.
Sheik Abu Mohamed Mansaray Senior Missionary in the Southern Province did the vote of thanks. Distribution of certificates climaxes the ceremony.
