The United Assembly of God International, between the 31st of October and the 4th November donated food items worth Le 10 million. The beneficiaries include: psychiatric home in Kissy, children with special needs foundation in Calaba Town, and initiative for women and girls empowerment. The items include: bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, cooking salt, boxes of cornflakes, sachets of milk, cooking Maggie etc. United Assembly of God Church is based in Muswellhil, London, but plans underway to establish in Sierra Leone, and establish a church. The church is currently on humanitarian activities for the past couple of months. Representative from the United Assembly of God Church, Fea Rose Dugba’ Kamara stressed the need to give to the needy, for this she said is rationalized in the holy bible. She said, they have been into charity for a couple of years now. She said, the three charity organizations selected were based on the fact that these were among the most vulnerable charity groups in the country. Receiving the items, Founder of Empowerment for women and girls in Africa, Reverend Martha, said, the word of God stress the need for giving. She said, the bible encourage us all to give to our neighbors when they are in need.

Founder for the Children with Special Needs Foundation, Pakuwa, said, the donation was timely, for at the time of the donation, they had only half bag of rice left. She said, the ten bags of rice will serve the children for days. The book of 2 Corinthians 9: 6-8, states that “remember this, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves cheerful giver.”
