The Nigerian National Union (NNU), Sierra Leone has issued a press release vehemently condemning the alleged killing of a member of their union.
President of the Union, Architect Abel Onomake disclosed that the deceased Emmanuel Obiozor was allegedly killed on Tuesday morning in his shop at Lumley Street in central Freetown.
He revealed that the alleged murderer is said to be a Sierra Leonean known as Mohamed, who used to work for the deceased and now on the run.
According to the chairman of the Ibo Union of Sierra Leone Ernest Ude, the deceased was a very hardworking and law abiding Nigerian who had been doing his jewellery business for the past four years.
The NNU president said his union is following the matter with keen interest and he is personally monitoring the progress of the investigations.
He said the union is relying on the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) for a thorough investigation on the matter and assured of giving the police the fullest cooperation.
The Nigerian community in Sierra Leone is very aggrieved by this cold blooded murder of one of their own.
