The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is making an attempt in the Kailahun district, in the east of the country, to assist orphans and vulnerable children.
Speaking to Awoko in Kailahun Town the communications officer, Battu Sharman, said the project would be working with the community people to identify children in need of their support.
She further disclosed that they were also looking at ways of setting up dwelling and health units for children who fell in their targeted category.
Mrs Sharman appealed to the community people to fully cooperate with them, saying that they hoped to extend the programme to other chiefdoms in the district.
