All hell was let loose at the Miatta Conference Hall on Saturday when batteries of ‘Born Again’ Christians stormed the Hall to engage in spiritual warfare against the launching of a Nigerian Society-‘Aborigine Ogboni Kingdom (INT) Sierra Leone Chapter.
Like Nigerian horror movies, ‘Born Again’ charged in the spirit rained prayers in and around the conference premises in order to spiritually destroy the alleged cultic satanic kingdom.
Pastor Sylvester Solomon of the Christ Assembly who was heading the praying and demon casting- ‘binding’- throng, explained that during a phoning programme at the Believers Broadcasting Network (BBN), a lady caller (name withheld) informed them about an alleged cultic society that was about to be launched at the Miatta Conference Hall.
He disclosed that the head of this alleged cultic society is called his ‘Highness’, and that registration fee to be a member for this occult is Le 300,000.
Pastor Solomon also disclosed that other items apart from the registration fee includes: one white and one red piece of satin; 9 pieces of Kola nuts; 1 better kola nut; 1 hen and a cock; and a male and female duck.
The pastor alleged that if this cult was allowed to be launched strange things would start to happen, such as virgin sacrifices and the disappearances of human private parts.
“We are not going to allow this launching. We are going to fight this battle till we succeed,” he stressed.
Pastor Salmon said that they don’t not need any support from the government to fight their course “we are supported by heaven, we are a force on our own,” he said.
“We are going to conduct a rapid arrest,” said, the SLP Ops Minor Regional Commander- Paul Conteh who was at the scene.
The reason for the arrest he explained, “we do not give such organization the clearance to assemble”.
Inspector Ibrahim Samura explained that they had intelligence report about the group and its intention to operate in Sierra Leone.
He explained that members of the group would get rich through occultism, noting that intelligence is subjected to investigation.
The Inspector disclosed that few arrest have been made and that they are currently investigating the matter, adding that he cannot devolve more information with regard to the matter as this might prejudice the investigations.
Some of the guests who came to witness the launch were arrested by the Police for questioning.
In another development, the Lumley Community was taken aback when they learnt that a Nigerian Ashoju Oba Agbaiyes Palace situated at Grass Field is allegedly engaged in some cultic activities that are not related to any Christian principles.
The Palace was surrounded by irate youths who pelted stones and sticks while some of the aggrieved residents used unprintable languages on the Nigerians; as they stood by their fence in anger and desperation.
An eye witness told Awoko who visited the scene that “Friday night was like a ritualistic event for the Nigerians as they heard and saw people around the Compound who were dressed in robes and were also chanting songs in a circle form around the palace”
“We did not sleep that night, they sprayed blood around their Palace and also performed some inhuman practices, and some people paid money to get initiated on the pretext of getting rich” they revealed to our reporter.
Mean while the Multi- Religious Council for Peace and Justice in Sierra Leone and its allies Civic and Religious bodies have strongly condemned the outrageous intent to establish the OGBONI Society Cult as part of the Sierra Leone Church system.
It is also interesting to know that some Nigerians are against the establishment of the allege Occult.
Rumors have it that three ministers have already joined the society.
According to unconfirmed reports this alleged cultic union was banned in three countries.
Reports also alleged that the society wants to take advantage of the President Koroma’s recent pronouncement that Sierra Leoneans must go back to their culture.
Blood was also seen around the premises of the Miatta Conference Hall where it was alleged that it was an act of sacrifice made by the union; but other school of taught argued that the blood was that of a dog who was hit by a car and subsequently ran into the premises dripping blood as it was looking for safety.
Speaking with the alleged cultic order, His Royal Highness Dr Valentine S Akpati, he said that it is just a traditional festival.
He expressed his dismay as to how the ‘Born Again’ Christians blew the traditional celebration out of proportion.
So far the Nigerian High Commission has disassociated themselves with the Aborigine Ogboni Kingdom.
Nigerian Counsel, A.K Balongun said they had earlier warned members of the society not to carry on with the celebration.
