Barely four months after starting its operations in Freetown, the United Bank for Africa (UBA) is hosting its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rasheed Olaoluwa.
The CEO is representing the Group Managing Director Tony Elumelu, who is the current President of the West African Bankers’ Association (WABA), whose executive meeting is currently underway at the Bintumani Hotel.
UBA which is ranked as one of the largest financial institutions in West Africa commenced its operation in Sierra Leone on July 22 this year with a vision “to be the undisputed leading and dominant financial services institution in Africa”.
According to sources at UBA, its expansion drive in the continent continues to grow with Tanzania as the latest addition to join the network of 12; which includes Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroun, Uganda, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and Chad Republic. Others in the network are; Burkina Faso, Senegal, the Gambia and Sierra Leone, in addition to operations in London, New York and the Cayman Islands.
