Sierra Leone’s U-20 Team, which would be representing the Country in this year’s West Africa Football Union (WAFU) competition, is expected to depart the shores of Freetown tomorrow for Nigeria, with a 25-man delegation.
According to the President of WAFU Amos Adamu, the aim is to bring African countries together, in a bid to boost home-based players.
Sixteen (16) countries are expected to participate in this year’s competition and they would be divided into four groups; with the best two teams in each group going to the quarter final stage.
The competition would definitely attract Scouts from Asia, Africa and Europe.
The delegation comprises of 18 players and 7 officials. The players are Lansana Jalloh, Osman Tommy, Ibrahim Tarawalie, Salifu Samura as Captain, Michael Kallay, Ibrahim Kamara, Issa Kamara, Alfree Sanu, Aluspa Watery ,Alusine Kamara ,Mumini Khomson Kamara, Dwight Foray, Alieu Kargbo, Suleiman Kamara, Ibrahim Kargbo, Mohamed Kabia, Ibrahim Bangura and Morlai Sesay
The Officials who were confirmed to be part of the delegation are; Joseph Kelfala, Team Doctor; John Ansumana , Head coach; Daniel Sesay and Assistant Coach Alimamy Turay.
