The Sierra Leone U-20 team, the Shooting Stars, will depart today for Senegal in the second leg of the CAF Youth Championship for Rwanda 2009.
The match will be played on Saturday with the match official coming from Guinea and the match commissioner from Mauritania.
In the first leg played in Freetown at the National Stadium on April 19, Shooting Stars forced their Senegalese opponents to a one all draw after a thrilling encounter with both sides showing their prowess.
The Shooting stars will be leaving with a 24-man delegation including 18 players and 6 officials leading the delegation is Mohamed A Kabba from Sport Council, Morrisson M Sannoh team co-ordinate, Abu Sankoh head coach, Alimamy Turay (K Foot) Asst.coach John Ansumana, the team doctor, and Musa Lamin from SLFA Secretariat
The players are Mohamed Kanu,Fouad Kamara,David Simbo,Abu Tommy,Alusine Kamara,Santos Sesay, Alfree Sanu, Khomson Muniru Kamara,Gibrilla Fofanah,Michael Kallay, Ishmail Taylor Lahai Chandus Freeman, Dwight Foray, Hassan Foday Kamara, John Conteh John Jabbie,Ibrahim Koroma and Lamin Suma.
Speaking to Awoko Sport the head coach, Abu Sankoh said they were going to Senegal to eliminate their opponents at their own soil. “We are going on the offensive throughout the match to get the needed goals that will see the team through to the next stage of the competition,” he said.
