As the Sierra Leone U-19 Cricket team prepares for their play-off competition in Canada in September the team has played a series of friendly matches with the Senior Side and over the weekend they registered another defeat against the Senior Side.
They defeated the Senior Side by 47 runs on the ‘Duckworth Lewis’ rule because the match was called off due to bad weather.
During the match the U-19 side was the first to take the crease and they made 235 runs for 6 wickets in 40 overs. Jacob Mansaray made the highest score of 69 runs,Abubakarr Kamara made 63 runs not out, Musa Ganda and Julius Quee made 26 runs each with an extra of 40 runs.
Bowling for the Senior Side Momofoe Kpundeh had 2 Wickets for 38 runs, Lansana Lamin had 1 wicket for 33 runs and Mohamed Boys Kamara had 2 wickets for 52 runs.
When the Senior Side took the crease they replied with 52 runs for 6 wickets in 16 overs with Gabriel Anthony making the highest runs of 16 for his side. Alie John Kamara and George Kpundeh made 9 runs each
Bowling for the U-19 Side Abubakarr Kamara had 4 wickets for 19 runs, Ibrahim Kabia had 6 overs for 16 runs and Edward Marrah had 2 overs for 7 runs. They are expected to play another friendly match this weekend at the Kingtom oval.
