U-19 defeats senior team by 60 runs

As the U-19 and senior cricket teams are preparing for their International competitions they have been engaged in a series of friendly matches to put their various teams in good shape for the competitions.
In the second trial match the U-19 side defeated the senior side by 60 runs. The U-19 first took the crease and made 143 runs for 6 wickets in 20.0 overs. Abubakarr Kamara made 71 runs for his side to be followed by Jacob Mansaray with 33 runs and with extras of 32 runs.
Bowling for the senior side Gabriel Anthony had 3 wickets for 12 runs, Lansana Lamin had 1 wicket for 14 runs, and Alfred Charley had 1 wicket for 26 runs
When the senior side took the crease they made 83 runs for 5 wickets in 20.0 overs with Abubakarr Kargbo and Lansana Lamin making 21 runs each for their side with extras of 8 runs.
Bowling for U-19 side Abubakarr Kamara had 4 overs for 14 runs, Jacob Mansaray had 3 overs, for 10 runs, Edward Marrah had 4 overs for 17 runs while Ibrahim Kabia had 4 overs for 20 runs and 1 wicket while Solomon Williams had 4 overs for 28 runs and 1 wicket.
The Public Relations Officer of the Association Alieu Bockarie said that the senior team will have to engage in more trial and test matches to enable them to select players that would represent the country in the North-West Africa competition in Malawi this year.
He stressed that the players selected will be selected on merit not on sentiment
