Thirteen U-19 cricket players will be expected to go to camp today at the National Stadium in Freetown in preparation for their U-19 competition in Mozambique this month.
The 13 players that are expected to camp today are Ibrahim Kamara, Ibrahim Mansaray, Mohamed Alie Bangura, Abubakarr Kamara, Emmanuel Pessima, Ibrahim Kabia, Balowa Mansaray, Julius Quee, Edward Marah, Bami Williams, Brima Ansumana and Osman Koroma.
The Public Relations Officer of the association Bockarie Alieu has also disclosed that the U-19 cricket delegation will comprise of the 3 officers and the 13 players.
The 3 officers that will accompany the players are the president of the association Beresford Bounce Coker, assistant Secretary Francis Samura and head coach Cycil Panda.
In another development the chairman of the sports committee in Parliament Hon Nuru Deen Yillah last Thursday met with the U-19 cricket players at the Kingtom oval during the last trial match against the senior players.
In his statement he advised the U-19 players to take education as one of their priority and appeal to them to have the country Sierra Leone at heart when they are in Mozambique and make sure that they return home with the championship.
Nuru Deen went further to assure the players that the committee will be looking into the affairs of cricket in the country that over the years cricket is one of the sports that has brought laurels to this nation
