Manso Dumbuya and James Gbanabome a driver and Apprentice have been locked up for raping a 12 year old girl in Lumley
In her evidence the little girl said that on the 11th of August at Lumley she was selling boiled eggs when the first accused called her inside his car telling her that he wants to buy an egg.
She said he took the egg and ate it and then refused to pay her. She asked the first accused told her to wait for him and then started his car.
The little girl said she then went inside the car and sat waiting for him to pay her for the egg he had eaten.
While sitting in the car she said the first accused moved the car up to Lumley and left her there. She said when she asked for her money the first accused asked her to wait until he picks up some passengers. Later he then asked her to get into the car and drove her and his passengers to town.
After asking for her money for the egg again she said the first accused again asked her to go with him to Lumley so that he can pay for the egg.
However she said this time the first accused did not take her to Lumley but drove to a bushy area and parked.
He then sent the second accused to buy him some marijuana. The little girl testified that the second accused left and returned to tell the first accused that he could not get any marijuana.
The little girl said she started crying as the first accused squeezed her neck and slapped her on the jaw. The first accused she said push her down in the car and undressed himself and proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her. She said she was in pain and bleeding from her private parts. After the first accused had finished she said he drove off and gave some money to his apprentice and asked him to see her off.
After the fist accused left, she said the second accused hit her on the back and threw her on the ground. He too (second accused) proceeded to undress her and have sexual intercourse her. “I started bleeding again” she said. After the second accused had finished she went on he took her to a place where they were waiting for transport but unfortunately a police officer met them and asked her what she was doing in the street at that time of the night.
The second accused upon seeing this ran away but the police man chased him and caught him and put them in a police vehicle and took them to CID head quarters. She said she made a report and the officer asked the second accused to locate the first accused.
She said she was later referred to the rainbow centre for check up and treatment. She said her Aunt was also asked to make a statement too.
The case was adjourned to 18th September for cross examination the accused were remanded in prison.
