Sallieu Fadika a security at Carlton Carew road and Abubakarr Conteh an apprentice were discharged yesterday on a seven (7) count charge of obstruction, public insult, threatening languages and obstruction of people by presiding Magistrate Bankole Shyllon of court No 3.
There particulars of offence were that on 5th May the accused persons obstructed Police 11334 Saidu Sheika Bangura and on the same day behaved disorderly to police Sgt. 2589 Georgestone.
The two accused persons pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Shyllon questioned the accused if they had any business in court on the said date. Their responses were, “I have a matter in court” – 2nd accused, and “I came on a visit” 1st accused.
Magistrate further asked them what brought them to court. The accused persons explained that they were pleading to the police not to arrest their friend and suddenly they were accused of obstruction.
The Magistrate cautioned the accused and they again pleaded guilty and they (accused) apologized publicly to the police officers. Relatives of the accused pleaded with the complainants (police officers) to pardon the accused persons.
