Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The exhilarating two-day Dworzack and Eastern Strongest Man spectacle, commenced on Friday, December 29th, 2023, at the Dworzack community field, is set to culminate today, Saturday, December 30th, 2023. The grand finale includes intense Tug of War and Mass Wrestling competitions featuring the U-19 junior 560kg male team and the 680kg senior men’s team.
Over the course of the two-day competition, strongman athletes showcased their prowess through challenging events, including sand carrying with 100kg bags, 100kg reps pulls, standing weight with a 300kg dumbbell jerk, and lifting atlas stones weighing 112kg, 117kg, 125kg, 130kg, and 145kg.
As the event reaches its climax today, spectators eagerly await to witness the fierce showdown between the host, Dworzack, and the formidable Eastern team, with both sides vying for supremacy.
Sonny Johnson, the Technical Director for Strongest Man, expressed that the two-day competition, coupled with Tug of War and Mass Wrestling, serves as a platform to showcase Sierra Leonean athletes. He emphasized that concluding the year with this event is a strategic move to prepare for the upcoming year, where they plan to organize more community and regional competitions.
